Why it matters
ADA website lawsuits are rising, and small businesses are the most common target.
Title III of the ADA prohibits denying people with disabilities equal access to goods and services, and courts increasingly apply it to websites. Demand letters typically ask for immediate remediation plus attorney fees.
Getting compliant isn't about fear. It removes a business risk that's entirely preventable, and remediation usually costs a fraction of defending even a simple demand.

The overlay myth
Overlay widgets don't make your site compliant. Full stop.
Overlays are third-party scripts that add a toolbar promising automated fixes. They're heavily marketed and inexpensive, and they don't work.

Does my website need to be ADA compliant?
If your business operates in the US and has a public website, you face potential ADA Title III exposure regardless of size. There's no single federal law naming WCAG for private businesses, but WCAG 2.1 AA has become the de facto standard courts and settlements reference.
Do accessibility overlay widgets make my website compliant?
No. Overlays don't make a site WCAG compliant, often interfere with assistive technology and haven't protected businesses from lawsuits. Real compliance takes code-level fixes.
How much does a WCAG accessibility audit cost?
It depends on the size and complexity of your site, from a few hundred dollars for a basic audit to a few thousand for audit, remediation and documentation. The free baseline scan means your quote is based on actual findings.
Is my Wix or Squarespace site accessible?
Almost certainly not to WCAG 2.1 AA. Some improvements are possible within platform limits, but full compliance usually needs a custom build.
What's the difference between an audit and remediation?
