Google Analytics 4 is here
While Google has delayed the cutoff date of their Universal Analytics multiple times, the date has officially been set. Beginning July 1, 2023, no new data will post to the Universal Analytics account. So if you haven’t set up your GA4 profile yet, we highly recommend you get on it.
Seriously, don't wait any longer
Once Universal Analytics is disabled by Google, you will not have any new data reporting to that property in your analytics account.
Because Google’s new GA4 is a completely different platform your old data will not populate over. This means if you need your historical data you need to start making and downloading the data now. There is mention that December 2023, the Universal Analytics properties will no longer be accessible and if data hasn’t been downloaded, it may be lost.
We’d recommend installing the new GA4 tracking code along side your existing UA tracking code to ensure that you don’t miss out on any data.
Google published an article explaining how to export your current UA data.
